Obituary - Glenn Powell
Glenn Powell passed away Tuesday Jan. 19, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. His obituary stated that he was a great lover of horses and was a lifetime member of the GWHEA. In fact, Mr. Powell had sent in his lifetime membership application to me in December. If you would like send a card to his wife of 45 years, Brenda Powell, her address is 733 Andrews Road, Murphy, NC 28906.

Riding Clinic in GA

Lewisburg, TN - The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' & Exhibitors Association and The Walking Horse Owners' Association and have joined forces to promote 1 day riding clinics across the country in 2010. Certified Riding Instructors will be on hand to give guidance with riding etiquette and general horsemanship. This is a great way to start off the season by polishing your riding skills or obtain knowledge from a Certified Riding Instructor.

These events are open to riders of all ages and skill levels. Participants are encouraged to bring their own horse if possible. A limited number of lesson horses will be available for the MS & GA Clinics. The first 2010 WHOA -TWHBEA Day Riding Clinic will be held in Olive Branch, Mississippi at Edgar Abernathy Stables on February 27. Alice Klein will be the CRI for this clinic. The second clinic will be March 13 at Edison Lions' Club Show Grounds in Edison, GA. Barbara Civils will serve as CRI for the GA Clinic.

Website Update
The GWHLA website is now part of the GWHEA website. The GWHLA plans to work closely with GWHEA this year to bring a renewed interest to Walking Horses back to the people in Georgia.
 
GWHEA High Points Changes
The GWHEA High Points will be kept strictly on the website. This means you will not need to turn in you points sheets at the end of the year. We will tabulate awards based on the results displayed on the website. So please check your results carefully.
